Ivana Trump has made a bikini that is a feminist statement by being one of the first women to wear the garment in a fashion show.
Ivanka Trump was crowned Miss Universe 2017 on Monday, and the US president took to Twitter to share a photo of the “bikini” with the caption, “A new trend in US politics!”
The “biscuit” was also featured in the new documentary The Bikini Years, a documentary that chronicles the life and career of the former fashion model and fashion icon.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in January, the model and actor said she chose the “shorts and flats” look because she felt “feminist” and wanted to “stand out”.
“I don’t want to be the second coming of Naomi Campbell,” she told the magazine.
I want to stand out.”
She continued: “I just think I should stand out.
That’s what I’m fighting for.
I just think it’s a very important thing.
And that’s what it’s about.”
The Miss Universe contest has become a flashpoint in the US presidential race after Trump took part in a series of tweets calling for the “election of a woman president”.
He said he would be “honoured” to be Miss USA, a decision that prompted a furious backlash from women’s groups.
